- Perhaps the best blog title in a while, this is a fairly new blog on the writings of Pope Benedict. Written by a priest in Canada. Check this one out. Fr. Denis gets bonus points for that title, Life with a German Shepherd.
- A great take from Joe at Shameless Popery about Mary as a model of obedience.
- Kevin Eck's take on the best current wrestling entrance songs. My fave is Randy Orton's...but all-time gotta say Sexy Boy by Shawn Michaels rocks the house. And since Eck was responding as it were to this post from Simmons here is that as well. As an aside I miss the days when someone's music would hit and the announcers would tell us (cue Jim Ross impression Good Lord that's (Wrestler X's music)).
- Here's With Leather's recap of a stunning Raw from this past Monday.
- Erick Erickson's look at the 2012 Republican field, and the horse race that is under way.
- A Spanish Cardinal tickles one of my buttons, recommends entire church receive communion, kneeling and on the tongue... Would that Holy Father would end the indult allowing Our Lord to be received standing...

Web Links Tuesday
Hello Dear Readers,
I know I have been away awhile it turns out that stacking soda cans takes a lot of time and more of my brains than perhaps I care to admit. Either way a lot has happened of late (or in at least one well publicized case, not happened, well here's hoping none of my readers was raptured anyway).
So let's take a look at the web and see what we find.

So let's take a look at the web and see what we find.
- I should have written my own post on Macho Man Randy Savage's death, but it would have paled in comparison to Sport's Guy's so here is his take on the man who helped a lot of us become wrestling fans. Side note, the wife and I were discussing it the other day. Macho Man is one of only two wrestlers I truly remember from my early years, Hulk Hogan being the other.
- One more piece on Savage this one from Kevin Eck, who writes for the Baltimore Sun. Eck is a former wrestling creative guy (in other words he helped to write the soap opera parts).
- A look at how the rapture isn't entirely biblical, it's proof texted out by folks who believe in it.
- The recent tornado in Joplin, Mo. was a horrible thing to be sure one of it's architectural victims was a Catholic Church. Take a look at the photos in this post from Fr. Z and note what is still standing from said church.
- A look at the how the 2012 GOP field is shaping up from Michelle Malkin. Of the people mentioned I like Pawlenty and Cain so far I think. Well really I like Newt, but he has as much of a chance as I do of being President.
- Just a little fun from Reaganite Resistance.

Web Links Wednesday
Look it's the return of the Wednesday Links here at the Musings....without further ado....
- Another Virtual Tour from the Vatican: This one of the Pope's Church, The Archbasilica of St. John Lateran. It is the Cathedral church for the Bishopric of Rome and as such, the Mother Church for all Roman Catholics.
- Wikipedia's page about the Church for your educational purposes.
- One heck of a April Fool's Joke, Unam Sanctum Catholicam created a fake papal encyclical essentially calling anything that came out of Vatican II anathema. Hilarious, be sure you check out the link in the story for the phony encyclical, as well as their related story/another April Fool's joke about the beatification of John Paul II being delayed. Exceedingly elaborate work to try and snooker some folks.
- Archbishop Sheehan of Santa Fe, issues a strongly worded pastoral letter concerning cohabitation. Father Z has a great story with some additional comments from my favorite priest blogger.
- One of my favorite voices from Red State with a blistering report on Speaker Boehner getting three minutes of President BO's time to discuss the budget.
- Some good funnies from Reaganite Republican.
- Here's a story detailing the administrative leave of Fr. John Corapi a gifted priest and speaker. He was put on leave while his order investigates a claim from a former employee of some serious allegations. Here's hoping the truth will out. The story answered my wondering about why EWTN hadn't been airing his programs.

Web Links Wednesday
So I was going to have a real post and not web links today, but then I found something that absolutely deserved to be seen.
- Charlie Sheen's meltdown as seen through the eyes of Cats....It is so worth your time to click this link.
- Some Funny political cartoons from Reaganite Republican
- A story about how John Paul the Great was the same in public as in private.....from the man in charge of the cause for his Sainthood.
- I never knew Jane Russell nearly died from an abortion....She passed away at 89 earlier this week, the abortion experience converted her to born again Christianity....
- Pope Benedict recently gave an address declaring that "Abortion resolves nothing...."
- A great peace from El Rushbo the Doctor of Democracy on Obama's Peace Prize being won on speculation.
- A more in-depth look at the idea from the London Telegraph
- One last laugh for the week...if you don't see at least one person who makes you feel better about yourself at your local Wal-Mart be afraid....

Web Links Wednesday
Hello all, well it's another Hump Day....You know what that means here at the Musings...it's time for some Web Links.....
Edited to add one more link:
President Obama's HHS Dept. rolled back Conscience regulations for pharmacists and docs, which means some could be forced to violate their moral/religious principles....Catholic Hospitals supposedly still have their same protections in place......
- A couple of great posts on the Canon of Scripture from my friend Joe over at Shameless Popery....ok he's not my friend but he has commented on my blog before and his stuff blows my mind...someday I hope to be this knowledgeable in my faith.....He deals with which Canon(s) might be "correct" and whether Jesus quoted or otherwise used them....
- Pope Benedict's Lenten message released on the Feast Day of the Chair of St. Peter.....
- Reaganite Republican has been busy with loads of info on the happenings in Libya....plus some other things...
- Here's a lot of info from the Middle East straight from the horse's mouth... Al Jazeera is one of the best news organizations around.....plus they are right in the middle of it all....
- A little post President's Day info on a recent poll from Michelle Malkin on the Greatest Presidents
- The winner of that Poll's library......
- The wikipedia page of one of my favorite EWTN hosts. Fr. Benedict Groeschel, an amazing man with a heck of a story, he nearly died in a 2004 accident, in fact he had no signs of life for 20 minutes at one point and he hosts Sunday Night Live on EWTN plus he is an amazing author....and I won't lie reminds me a bit of my own Papaw....makes me a little homesick every time I see him...

Web Links....Special Thursday Edition
Hello all, I missed my usual Web Links Wednesday, so I am bringing them to you today.
- There is an instruction set to be issued concerning Summorum Pontificum, and Fr. Z has some great ideas on his blog. Ideas to help Benedict XVI keep the document strong, if not strengthen it even more. Pray for the Holy Father, to keep SP strong, that we may reclaim some of our Catholic identity.
- A great place to read a host of conservative columnists, from Ann Coulter to David Limbaugh and a host of other great conservative thinkers.
- One of the great phrases ever coined Jumping the Shark, deals with when good TV goes bad.
- Be warned this great site will suck you in, lots of trivia and quizzes and the like.
- This is a good place to go for news, especially Catholic News, The NCR was recently acquired by EWTN.
- And because I mentioned her network here is the wikipedia page on Mother Angelica, EWTN's fiercely orthodox, wickedly funny founder.
- Keep some Kleenex handy for this sad, sad story. Michelle Malkin details the mass murdering Philadelphia abortion doc case
- Check your prescriptions carefully people. People make mistakes. Like this Safeway in Colorado, gave a pregnant woman an abortifacient pill.
